Medical Content Policy

The medical content policy explains who writes the health information on this site, who reviews it and how it is updated. The aim is that you always know where what you read comes from and what its limits are.

Note: The content is educational and general. It is not a diagnosis and not a substitute for an in-person examination.

Who writes the content?

The content is written by the clinic's medical content team under the direction of Dr. Emeel Hourani. It is written in plain language for non-specialist readers and follows accepted orthopedic practice.

Who reviews it?

Dr. Emeel Hourani reviews the medical pages before they carry the "medically reviewed" line. That line appears with the review date and the date of the last update. A page without it has not yet completed review.

How pages are updated

Pages are revisited from time to time and changed when medical knowledge changes or when an error or unclear passage is found. The last-update date changes whenever a substantial edit is made.

The limits of this content

  • It is educational and is not a diagnosis of your condition.
  • It does not replace an in-person examination or a doctor's advice.
  • We do not publish prices, success rates or guarantees of results.
  • We do not publish patient photos, stories or testimonials.
  • Outcomes and recovery time vary from person to person and are set by the doctor after assessment.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rely on the site to diagnose my condition?

No. The content is general and educational. Diagnosis needs an in-person examination and sometimes imaging or other tests.

Why don't you publish prices or results?

Because cost and outcome differ for every case, and it would be wrong to generalize or promise a particular result.

What does medically reviewed mean?

That Dr. Emeel Hourani has reviewed the page, shown with the review date and the date of the last update.
